How much the anchor text are worthy?

Doing anchor to keyword is the best technique to rank for a keyword. Is this right or wrong? Today i read the article from "Eric" Author on Search engine Land. He stated the predictions of SEO for 2012 that Anchor texts are devalued... who is agree with this and how much is this true?

what you have to remember is that is just a prediction, no one can say for sure what Google's newest algorhythms will change.
But I have heard people saying the same thing, so there must be good reason behind it.

Anchor text is most important to a link, if your website is optimised for certain keywords and you have no links including those words then they are pretty much useless.
But having a plain link to your site with no anchor text isn't a bad thing at all, it all helps your site, so it's best to have a mixture of both anchored links and normal links.

impossible. to have many link to build on our own. it has to be changed and google has to rank the keyword by number of usage of certain words in the forum and also by quality
