Alternate of Photoshop

I was searching a alternate for Adob photoshop . Is there any application which is alternate of photoshop and must be work on Linux.

You could try GIMP which should give you almost equivalent functionality if not all. This free as well

 

I am also looking for same thing...
but i think u can use wine to install adobe photoshop on linux...it seems to be of no use for me..but still u may give it a try.

 

The best alternative in my view is Gimp because it has many features as Adobe Photoshop, Open Source and works on Linux perfectly. It also comes installed many Linux distros including Linux Mint.

 

I don't like Gimp that much but it is probably the best alternative.

 

do you find that all the brushes and other option in adobe photoshop is also available on GIMP?

I tried the GIMP last day..but not that effective as photoshop. Any other suggesions guys?

 

Ya i have tried also. but I feel it difficult to use it as compare to adob photoshop..may be this is because we are addicted to adob...

You must try GIMP as it works on different platforms like Linux, Mac, Windows.

 

try GIMP..but photoshop is better..

 

You can use Picasa, paint in windows or coral draw for good editing

 

I felt the same way when I started using it, but now I see that Gimp can do anything Photoshop does, you just need to learn how to use it.

 

Try Gimp, its free and open source, however I use photoshop in image design as there is more tutorials out there with it

 

GIMP can work at linux..

 

I think Gimp could be an alternative in Linux, but I have not used it because photoshop juigastill the best.

 

GIMP is a great alternative to Photoshop in my opinion. I prefer Photoshop over it though.

 

GIMP and Blender for 3D stuff. These would be the top two for linux.

 

There is no substitute for the best software I ever used. Photoshop CS4 and CS5.

 

GIMP could be used but only if Photoshop is unavailable.
