I'm not sure if this is the right section of the forum. But I recently purchased a domain from an auction in this forum. And the seller has been MIA for the last 48 hours. I purchased it 2 days ago at this time. The seller told me to send him funds via paypal. I sent the funds, and he has yet to respond. How should I make sure that I do not get scammed from this guy? Or others in the future? Anyone have any experience with this?
I'm not sure if there is a person or place you can talk too to resolve this but generally I would say if you have a receipt(proof of payment) from paypal and have not received what you have paid for then the only route I could think of is to contact the guy with the proof of payment and ask for your goods, if there is still nothing gained from doing this, then i would suggest contacting the correct authorities. If you're unsure, give Paypal a call even, I'm sure they could point you in the right direction.
Thanks for responding. Contacting paypal is my next step. It's not the money that bothers me. It's the possibility of this seller getting away with it that drives me crazy.
yes I totally agree, they should not be allowed to get away with such things, if he is indeed not going ahead with the transaction.. I hope you overcome it or even manage to get what you paid for, i'm sure that would be ideal.
Check the profile of that member. You will see one attribute "Last Activity" . If he has not log during past 2 days. Then he might have some problem. So give some time to him before going to paypal. But that attribute shows some recent records , like yesterday or today; then directly go to Paypal and lodge complaint. Because he is ignoring you.
HaHa There is no "Customer Service" here on DP. You need to make sure people have been a member on here for a while and that they have several good iTraders (10+). You probably checked none of this before buying. Someone posted "contacting the correct authorities" that's a joke. Just be more careful next time. Lesson learned.
The seller I purchased the domain from had a good reputation. 21 positive sales with no negatives. He did eventually transfer the domain, be has was ignoring me for several days. I really don't think I should have handled it any different. But thanks for the advice.
