Contest Wordpress Theme Design Modiification Contest $50-$80 [Indian Only]

Hello there,

Last year we had gone through a small design change, but unfortunately it was never converted to real website. For your easy reference, I' am attaching an image over here. I need few modifications in the design (PSD will be provided upon request to reputed members only...but we do not prefer this option due to privacy reason).

Things I would like to see getting changed....

1) I don't like the header (navigation) part much.
2) Sidebar could be improved
3) Innerpage doesn't have thumbnails related post (after post). Kindly insert that in the design..

You're free to tweak the design according to your need. I'm open to any kind of design change. If your design is totally different and get selected then you will get $80 for the design. You just have to post the revision. Once selected I will provide you the full PSD to change the design (if you want)

The design was inspired from intomobile.com..but I do not like to clone the whole design. Also keep users experience in mind.

Remember this is for Indians only. Payment will be made by bank transfer. The contest will last for five days (till 19th December 2011)

 

Interesting. I can really help you looking at my reputation here which is not bad either and i am from India. Please may i get the PSD in PM so we can continue it from there.

Can I have the PSD please and within how many days you need??

 

You have to deliver it within 5 days. Since you'll be competing with others, it is always good to post it early to have an upper hand. Last day entry may not give you sufficient time to tweak the design (if selected).

Sorry I can not wait that long. You can submit it on 19th but it will give you little time to make modification (in case your design is selected). The above design is merely a concept. You can either modify this design or create a design from scratch.

Three people have received the PSD but none of them have posted the design. Hope to see some participation soon.

There are few things to keep in mind before you start designing

1) Users experience. Make sure your design doesn't unnecessarily draw the attention of the users.
2) Above the fold should have more content. There has to be at-least one ad unit (leaderboard ad) placed in above the fold part. It is not compulsory to have two navigation menu. Have a look at mashable.com, engadget.com,intomobile.com or any popular tech blog for that matter. You will see that their above the fold part is much more informative.
3) Featured post box height and width should be adjusted to fit above the fold part
4) Logo need not to be too big or fancy for that matter
4) Subscribe, social profile icons (twitter, facebook, google+) has to be placed somewhere in above the fold where user's attention is least.

Here is goes my first entry. Colors can be changed easily. Ad banners placed are just placeholder. If the design is selected, then i will do post page.

Looks good....There are few things needed to be changed...First of all, try to provide blue color variation. Apart from that, theme will show only recent post on the homepage. So instead of providing posts in this manner, I advice you to change it a bit (remove those post titles right below the Gadget, tutorial, software category..keep post with thumbnail only) (Gadgets,tutorial,software part only).

Sidebar could be improved. Even footer part is somewhat simple. Try to grab user's attention in footer section (don't over do it though...wpcentral.com is a good example). If possible try to provide only one navigation menu (by removing or minimizing the top nav-bar) in the header section so the featured post section shows up in above the fold.

Is it possible to place whole content area in a white placeholder (all content area and sidebar)?

I like your work.

 

Moreover try to provide better featured post section. Top right hand side featured posts (two square boxes) don't look good. RTy to increase the width by minimizing left hand side featured post section, else you can copy the featured section from previous theme

 

Normal recent posts will show on homepage like engadget ?

 

yup..You got it..don't remove Online TV, Android Apps part though..Also the background behind sidebar title looks unprofessional (ex popular articles thing)...either keep it simple simple like 'recent reviews' or change the style completely...
I advice you to change the style completely. Remove that box kind of look

 

When are you going to post the revision?
