Logo Contest for cool NGO - $20 Paypal - Great Feedback. Solid, Creative, Powerful

This NGO is looking for a modern look that can give revive their old brand to again become the number 1 trusted social & economic community development and support charity in the country.
The look must be prestigious, trust-worthy and modern.

Logo is for NGO called: CAFDA

It must embody:
- Strength
- Empowerment
- Modern look
- Possibly family or Community and support (& success)

Possible imagery to be created for ICON: Sun, Family Success, Uplifted Community

We can start with either something completely fresh, or model it on the UNICEF logo, as per included - you decide on which colour would make it strongest.

Strong text with solid colour and icon AND a small line of text underneath in a good spot or in a banner for defining the sub-section e.g. Community Centre, Retail, Social Work etc.

GENERAL OBSERVATIONS:
The capital letters seems over the top, let's try either: "Cafda" or "cafda"
Needs small sub-header, or banner(in which text gets punched out) underneath - for different departments of the organization e.g. Community Centre
Remember - this organization brings "light", success, happiness and pride to the community.

I'd like someone to try something much closer to Unicef (same font, try different colours), but maybe replace the laurels with hands, with the sun in the middle with a happy family OR community in it.

I like the idea of the people in the sun. But they will have to look happier. As is, the orange needs to be more vibrant, Cafda font changed and sun and family made happier(less bathroom door sign-ish), with the hands thrown on the sides for support. Also, give it a bit of room to breathe and put the sub: "Community Centre" underneath.

Thanks for this entry Jhaye - always appreciate your participation. It is colourful and happy. But one of the key things that we are working on, is establishing a look that is extremely trustworthy and credible. For that, please follow the solid simplicity of the unicef logo to get uniformity. This one as is has many moving parts, and the eye jumps a bit to try and understand it. We would like it to be solid and clear, with your eyes understanding the visual immediately and effortlessly. But again - thanks for the entry.

Thanks for the entry, Herwin. Much appreciated. A nice happy feel, but it needs a bit more of a corporate look.
Can we see this with font in warm orange and the imagery incorporated into an orb to the right of it. Also with the family being a mom, dad and kid - but the same happy style.

 

Thanks for the entry, Einstine - much appreciated! Love the polished looks. What I found, was that they feel a bit like "Award" logos, with the laurels. The bottom one feels stronger but the font feels a touch too modern. As this is a cultural organization with a long history - we'd love it to be as corporate/formal looking as a financial institution logo - to have that POWER and CREDIBILITY and AUTHORITY, but then the people's touch, with support, community and economic success. Can we try to make the font a bit more in line with that and try hands, or icons symbolizing hands instead of the laurels?
Please let me know if any of this is unclear.

Hi Logoesdesign. I did comment on yours, but I had a time-out and re-logged in. Seems like it did not post. Here it is again:
"Thanks for your entry, LogoesDesign. It is appreciated. This certainly has a happy feel and is close to the font for Unicef. However, the characters look a bit generic and the sun too much like a motor-part. To make it stronger, I think sharp ends might be better contained in an orb also, with the family in the middle. And perhaps a bit warmer towards orange for colour. Thanks again. TS"

Also - let's try single colour for main text and icon please - sub-head can be complimentary colour.
