found this last night on seo-guy ...

head on down to here - http://roberttaft.com/no_filter.htm - and bypass some filters!

hopefully, this will shine a little sunshine and hope for some of you drowning in quicksand.

If that truly works, than I could be raking in millions if I was out of the sandbox  ! well not quite, but still pretty good

it gives hope to all of us who don't currently rank :D ....

it's actually not very useful. (at least to me)

ok.. i'll duplicate my post in that thread because this thread looks like more suitable to this topic, sorry for making a mess on the forum :)

of course they don't. It's just a way to check if you are sandboxed and how would you rank if you were not :)

Well, it's useful in the sense that once the filters are taken off you could be seeing better results. It's not useful today, but it gives you hope.

it is useful because it helps you know that you rank low because you are sandboxed, not because your content is poor (if it's really about sandbox - see my 'p00f/YAY' post above)

it's not about people searching using this filter ... it's about knowing your efforts are in the right direction, or if you have MORE work to do ... considering right now many are in a dark room with sunglasses on looking for a lightswitch!

Instead of repeating myself, I'll reference you to a post I made over at SitePoint.
    http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1825394&postcount=11

This is NOT what your rankings are outside of the socalled sandbox.

Yeah, that filter doesn't work. It shows one site I have as being #1 when it gets "out of the sandbox"- the problem is, it was never in the sandbox. I have owned the domain for over 5 years, it's a steady PR5, and haven't added any links or made any changes in the last 6 months.

That's facinating. I think there is some degree of truth of to it but not necessarily 100%

How do we know its the sandbox filter? It could be the over optimisation filter, a spamming filter, or anything else google has filters for. In that case you would never come out of it.

well good point ... at the end of the day ... it's a filter of some sort though. would be nice to know which.

so while i can see the point with someonewhois on "this isn't the sandbox", i disagree that's this is wortless.

so which is it, use less or more of those words?

interesting, but I doubt it is a "sandbox" effect... www.hypnosisaudiocds.com comes up 4 without and 1 with the technique for "hypnosis mp3s"... the site performs well for chosen terms and has been around for a significant while (though doesn't report as many backlinks as it actually has in google)

not useful until I know what is actually causing the difference

I don't know what it is, but a lot of my newser sites are number one for some killer terms

If it's true, I jump from being outside the top 200 to #3 on Google. I'm already in the top 5 on MSN, so I hope this true and that I'll be out of the sandbox soon.
