Is it easier to build links and get PR for a domain or a subdomain? Like for eg. a domain abc.com compared to a subdomain abc.blogspot.com
    Thanks :)

It makes zero difference they're treated the same way.

The reason people use websites like blogspot is because they already have a higher PR and that will pass to your pages. But even with backlinks, a lot of these free platforms just do not get on the page 1 due to the number of free blogs created on them. The professional way to go it make your own website with your own domain name (trying to use your main keyword in your domain name) and use the free sites to build backlinks to your main site.

I agree with Dcristo, it doesn't make any difference. Create subdomain to include a blog or forum and generate backlinks for the same, but don't ever create a subdomain to include products name, brand name in order to generate links, a common mistake done by many webmasters. Good brands or products should have a clear identity and should be linked only to main page or main domain.

For me, they're just the same.. I've done this many times on subdomains and its the same result with my main domain.

Links are links, pointing to a domain or sub-domain doesn't make it easier or harder, imo.
What did you have in your mind?

It really depends. I registered several hundred domains and I seldom use sub domains.
