Your article needs to be informative and not a sales letter, if people think your an expert on the topic, they are more likely to follow your link and see what else you have to say. I do not get a lot of traffic from ezinearticles.com, but the real power comes when someone uses that article on their blog or site, and your article starts going viral. Articles need to be well written, good grammar, punctuation, and spelling. I can not believe what some people pass off as a good article. My 5 year old could do better. I know I am not perfect, but the better written, the more likely it will be viewed and completely read and your link followed. Concentrate on the top 5-10 article directories. If you are going to use the same, or a very similar article on your blog, and on article directories, post it to your blog first, and make sure it is indexed before publishing other places. Michael
Article marketing done properly is not about getting back links from article directories. It's about syndicating your articles to a network of blogs and websites that you have carefully set up over time. The article directories were never designed as a marketing tool in this respect, and they do not work well for article marketing either. Article marketing does not depend on Google or any other search engine for ranking or authority, or for anything else. Through intelligent syndication you can get all the traffic you need, and more. Traffic, not back links, will put money in your pocket if you monetize your money site properly. Submitting articles to dozens or even hundreds of article directories is not true article marketing. It is largely a waste of time. There's a much better way... Try this plan instead: 1. Publish your article on your own site or blog first to establish ownership in the eyes of Google and the rest. Wait until it has been indexed by Google at least, then... 2. Publish the article on EzineArticles.com. The reason for this is not so much for traffic, but more for syndication. Ezine owners and website owners use this directory more than the others, so there's a good chance of your article being picked up and used somewhere. 3. Spend time searching for suitable blogs and sites that seem likely to publish your article, the more prominent and highly trafficked the better. Get a list of 10, 20, 50, 100, 1,000 - or even more. 4. Contact all the blog and site owners, offering them your article for publication. If it is well written and a good match for their site, they are likely to agree to publishing it. Of course, you will have a well-crafted resource box in place with a link back to your money site. This is the true way of article marketing, in a nutshell. Once you can build up a large group of blogs and sites that have published articles from you previously, you will find it very easy to syndicate your articles on a regular basis. The blogs and sites where you publish should be chosen for quality and good traffic. Article marketing performed this way does not rely on Google's whims, and the traffic you will receive is much better targeted too. One last thing... If anyone is thinking "duplicate content," then you really haven't got a clue. Syndication is perfectly acceptable to all the search engines. It's how press releases are so successful, after all, and it's how article marketing works best too. John.
I believe article marketing is good, but it has been significantly hit by Google's Panda update. Be careful if you are using article marketing to only write articles on sites that have "dofollow" links and not "nofollow" links.
When you syndicate your articles to a carefully chosen network of complementary blogs and sites, and don't just blast them to every directory you can find, you will discover that Google's Panda update becomes meaningless and can NOT affect your article marketing efforts. Submitting an article to all the article directories, dofollow or nofollow, is not true article marketing, and is not very effective. Read my post above. John.
This is very informative! Thanks for sharing! I, on the other hand, post a related but different article on article directories. These articles are related to my blog and I sometimes link to my site through these articles but I do not post the same article I have on my site to article directories.
Hi all Some great tips. Also, remember that posting to your website first will make your website look authoritative in the eyes of search engine crawlers.
You should. When you post an article to your blog first and wait until it has been indexed by the search engines, you establish ownership of that article in the eyes of the search engines. Then, when you post it to the article directories, or better still - syndicate it to a network of carefully chosen blogs and sites - it is your article published on your blog that gets the authority. The best reason to post an article to an article directory is for syndication - getting other webmasters to take your article and publish it on their blog or site. That way you can utilize their existing traffic. Dumping articles in hundreds of directories for back linking purposes is a bad strategy and a waste of time. Syndicate your articles to blog owners who have popular blogs that are complementary to yours. You will get a back link of course, but much more importantly, you will get some of their traffic. Doing article marketing this way you can have a site that ranks nowhere in the search engines, but gets hundreds of visitors a day. Once you reach that situation, Google and its updates can kiss your &%*#! You will no longer need back links for better ranking as you will have all the traffic you need! This is how to do article marketing. It works 1000% better than mindlessly submitting to article directories. John.
jcoutts1 has it nailed. While submitting to article directories is a great idea, you *need* to first upload it to your website. Authority and relevance is key!
Its really not like which one is best... Both are good to get traffic,, You should know how to use them efficiently, otherwise both seeems to be waste..
It is important to write unique articles first and then you can submit it to high page rank article directories.
The article directory's HOME page may have a high page rank, but the page that your article will be on will have absolutely no page rank at all. The back link from that article directory is virtually useless. Use article directories for the possibility of article syndication, when publishers oick up the article to republish on their own websites. That way you might get a decent back link - and some very good traffic. Of course, you do have to publish the article on your own website first to get the full benefit. John.
I like article marketing as well like others have said.. also be sure to use relevant keywords for seo in your content
Both are great but you don't have to settle for one..you can write articles then use an article to video converter to create videos...THINK BIG
