    Hi Everybody,
I have seen few SEOs use short URLs in submission (in DIrectories and Bookmarking etc.), Do these backlinks gains same value as the direct URL of the website..

I suppose you're trying to get more backlinks i.e. to submit your site more than once in one and the same directory. This is not very good idea just because a lot of directory moderators will find your trick and will ban all your links. In general if there is clear redirect - yes, these links are not bad

You can get good traffic but not backlink advantage (PR etc) for those short URLs because they will not directly pointing to your site.

If you want to obscure the end location of your link go ahead and use url link shorteners.

But as indicated above, it is very doubtful that you'll gain anything more than a simple link
(no added pr value to your website)

(and no one likes duplicate links - so at least make your descriptions different for each site you submit them to)

I think this is not a good practice because as "webdev007" told, the URL are not representing your site.

There is no harm in using short URLs for submissions. In fact URLs from bit.ly are easily discovered by search engines.

As far as their credit is concerned, it carries same weight as any normal URL carries.
