Is Directory Submission still helpful?

    Hello

    Let me know is directory submissions are important however we got very less numbers of approvals and mostly not indexed.

    also Can anyone tell me if we don't want to publish our description on google results but only the title. How can i do this. Is there an on page tag for this?
    (this questions is been asked to me in interview and not able to gave the answer).

    Please let me know.

    It depends on the description. I have added some and Google added their own. For the directory submissions, nope.

    Yes directory submission is still effective. Keep on submitting your site to high quality directory submission sites and you'll see the difference.

    It is still effective but.. it takes time before your submission will be be accepted and no assurance that you will get approved on the listings.

    If you are ready to spend some bucks for this then there is a good idea because then you have surity of confirmed link but in case of free dir..nothing is guranted so try your luck!!

    Yes Directory submission is still helpful for keyword ranking. But submit the the link in authentic and good PR directories and take approval link.

    It may take a lot of time for the approval but it is very useful in link building.

    backlinks are always helpful but the result from directory submission is time consuming. The basic reason is delay in approval time + delay in crawling of those sites if they are not popular one.

    So if you can manage to have links from popular sites then its well and good otherwise it takes time witness the actual result of your submission processes.

    I think you can't control that as Google decides itself what to display. If you omit the meta description tag then it will pick the contents form page body and so.
