Hello, I have a .com site and i need to rank it on google.ru with russian keywords. Is it best to SEO my site using the russian keywords as is? Or do i need to get an .ru domain to rank better? ps: my site is already ranking well on English keywords and has some seo value
You can try to use your current site with Russian keywords, but I think you may end up needing to get a .ru domain. If you current site is already ranking well for English keywords, then I would probably choose to leave your current site as is and then build a new .ru site.
hi yes domain matters, .ru domain gives you benefit in the Russia, use .ru domain with Russian keywords for the maximum result.
Thank you for replies. Well obviously the .ru domain has more chances to rank better in Russian keywords than the .com domain. But the question is if its worth it to create a new website for only Russian keywords when you already have a website with Russian content and seo value in it. So for me its like that .ru domain option - Need new website - Need new content - Zero SEO, need to seo again - More value from Russian keywords .com domain option - No need of website - Already have Russian content - Already done a lot of seo - Need more work to rank in Russian keywords So whats the better decision? Thank you again
the .ru website will rank better for the local terms because of the URL extension .ru. its the same here in Australia, .com.au's are easier to rank in google Australia. I would suggest changing but Ic an see your point that it is a lot of work lost for you.
hi, my approach to your problem will be to buy a new domain name with .ru extension and then launch a new website with it. i will also try to host the website in Russia that will give me an advantage of the IP address. after it's done i will set Google Webmaster tool to Russia for that new domain name. kindest, abhishek kundu
An important part of Local SEO is collecting citations from the major directory distributors. I'm talking Yellow pages, yelp, white pages, blue book, merchant circle. Making sure your listing information is uniform across google places and all other providers is key. You also want to have your phone number and addressm visible and crawlable on the home page.
If you purchase .ru domain, this is good for promotion of your website in locally. But if you don't, then do work on "On Page" of your website like make title and content according to ru region.
The domain of website does matter if you are doing localized SEO and targeting local search engines. I would suggest you to focus on link building with local websites means the websites which are Russian and related to your niche.
add the Geographic location of your targeted location. and do social media optimization. it will definitely help and there is no need to take a RU domain.
Submit to local business sites and if you have a physical address then it will surely pay to submit it to the map submitting sites as that will show your site in the Google map results as well. More presence means more clicks.
