Recently, when I type: link:http://www.xxx.ca, there is always no result. Has Yahoo closed its backlink checking service? If so, what elso to use when checking the backlinks?

Merged? What have they merged exactly? They just killed the Yahoo one and told us all to start using Bing.

Yahoo transformed its algorithmic to Bing. Yahoo! Search has merged Site Explorer into Bing Webmaster Tools.

It has not been merged, it has been removed. I don't think any of the free tools out there are any good at the moment, they certainly don't give accurate results for the sites i manage. Would be interesting to hear other posters thoughts on the accuracy of the one's now available?

Try getting backlink data from Alexa, Blekko (search engines), or other tools, paid though, like Ahrefs or Majerstic SEO.
