search engines usually prefer the blogs instead of websites in the searches but the one of the most dangerous aspect of blogs is that it may be hacked or deleted mostly easily as compare to websites....
websites needs to built good credibility and after it mostly it remain good but blogs creditably goes up and down...

I used both and here is my case study:

    DEFINATELY Wordpress!

WP conversion rate: 23% (both for $97 product)
    html conversion rate: 16%

    Why wordpress?

    1) User friendly (for newbies)
    2) Google loves it
    3) Easier to manage
    4) Brings more conversion

So go for wordpress without any second thoughts

For me there is no better way than wordpress, not only it is a user-friendly platform but there are so many things you can integrate with it that are useful as an affiliate marketer.

I think it depends on how you are going to promote the product and what the product is. For example, if I were to promote a weight loss product I would probably use WP and promote it mostly in the content of the posts. In other words, not like a sales page or landing page. If I were to promote say a bicycle, I would use standard html.

Google doesn't love WP any more than any other website builder. In fact, Google doesn't care what you use. There are millions of authority sites and high ranking sites out there that do not use WP. What Google does like is new fresh content on a frequent basis. This is provided by blogging which is done mostly with WP.

I use XSP for my html sites. You do not have to know any html, it is basically a wysiwyg system that is tailored mostly toward affilate marketing. It is great and easy to use. If you want to look into it, let me know and you can use my affiliate link.:))
Seriously, it is really good and easy to use.

Use wordpress, static .html takes alot of time to maintain, update or to add content. Wordpress has also a lot of different plugins available to assist you in promoting and adding different types of content (like video, music, pdf, etc). It is really worth your while to get into wordpress

Here is my 100% honest take on it:

I had built a site with great content, over 10 pages of articles and reviews and went live. I reached page 1 with Google on my main Keyword in 10 days. 5 days later I was on page 2 and 3 (bouncing back and forth). This happened for about 2 weeks.

I noticed that all my competition ranked on page 1 had WP sites. I hate wordpress but spent 24 hours straight learning the ins and outs and how to customize the theme the way I wanted.

I deleted my old website and made a new wordpress website.

    2 days later I was ranked #3

All pages in the top 10 are WP sites......I will never build my own site again!

    Simple as that.
