Make sure your website layout is clear and everything on your site can be seen without "finding" things.

Try to view your site like your visitors and observe what difficulties you face while browsing web pages. Your website navigation/links must also be visible so that your visitors can wander along for a while on your site.

I don't think there's an average but you should always keep your bounce rate at the lowest or minimum percentage. A high bounce rate indicates your visitors do not stay in your site and Google can look at your site negatively if you have a high bounce rate. This discussion on what is the acceptable bounce rate can give you more information.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

The best answer to this question is having a fresh CONTENT everyday. And the best tip is to put a "Related Topic" after your post so that visitors will be clicking more links on your site.

There are many reasons for the high bounce rate. I did some research on it, here are my views.

    1) Bounce rate will be less when the user see more relevant links in the same page. For example, if a user is searching for toy in amazon.com, amazon shows the relevant products and user will attempt to click the other products and it keeps continuing for more than one click. So the bounce rate is reduced.

    2) Let's say, if you have a tech blog. User will come to your site for some info and if he finds the info useful, he will move out of your site with one page visit. So, your bounce rate is 100%.

3)I will put a question to you, what will be the bounce rate for forum. Users dig for answers and I think, forum has less forum loss.

My opinion on bounce rate for blogs are 70% to 80% and that's fine. For ecom site, it is 30 to 40%. Bounce rates depends on type of site.

While having new content up on your site is essential to keep the readers coming back, it is equally important that the articles are of good quality. The articles need to be engaging and informative so readers will be more inclined to stay in your site.

Find out how users are arriving at your site (hopefully find the keywords they are searching) then optimise your content around those keywords. Find out what people are looking for when people come to your site and give it to them!

Depends upon your services..if your services are products based then check the offer which you are providing and if your service is not product base then check the services is relevant to the search or not.
