Google is NOT displaying the title tag in the SERPs

I have noticed (more then once and with multiple websites) that Google is NOT displaying the title tag in the SERPs. They are ignoring the page title and providing their own title that they may deem to be more relevant.I’m not sure why this is happening,Guys did u notice this..?

    Hi,

I don't think so, i'd just search for a keyword "web design" and the sites displayed in google are displayed with their same title tag which are submitted, i'v checked the resource page also....

    Thanks & Regards

This is happened only in DMOZ, if ur site is listing in DMOZ, then u can use NOODP. In NOODP, we can use separate title and google can use this title.

Its been long google is displaying SERP in this manner for providing better user experience. When search query and your page title is not that much relevant; Google is modifying your page title and also take most relevant description from your page content to display on SERP.

I like the way they are displaying page title and description which can help you to increase CTR of your organic rankings.

    I recently discovered that:

    1. Google bot is not perfect. Sometimes it makes weird decisions, despite what you tell it to show.

    2. There are some plugins that can make your titles go a little screwy. A plugin for good SEO is doing something weird to a lot of people's meta title. Did you install a plugin that might be affecting your page title?

    hi !
i think that your site is not appropraite and google always say that your title should be attractie , so if your site title is not approprate according to the theme then you will have to change your title, that will suite your site's theme.

May be your website title longer than 70 character or may be your website title is not appropriate.

    This happens often.
If google find that your page title is not relevant to the user, it will generate its own page title or description and display in serps.
Just play around with you title, change it.. Make it more relevant to the content of your website.. Get a few links and it should be fine..

Hei, this happened to me also ...

I recommend you to try only 60-65 characters in the title and make your title relevant accordingly with your page`s text.

By the way, what plugin do you use to show sites PR ?

    Regards,

    KriSs
