    there are about 3, IPB, vBulletin and xenforo as paid, ofcurse there are free ones too, phpbb, and smf.

    This has been covered a million times on DP before.
    Go look at each forum's support forum. See how active it is, see how many people are complaining, etc etc...
    Or just bite the bullet and go with vBulletin.
    As far as the free ones go, I personally like MyBB and phpBB.

    I prefer IPB (paid) or SMF (free).
    vBulletin is very nice as well but IPB is my personal selection because I am using it for years and I am more familiar with its Admin CP.

    XenForo by far and without a doubt. I've used phpbb, smf, vb, ipb and xenforo. XenForo is the best one by far.

    According to me VBulletin is the safest & best Forum software. If You are looking for a Free option then I'll advice you to choose Simple Machines - SMF for developing a Community.
