Google Analytics vs. Awstats and Webalizer

Discussion in 'Google Analytics' started by piano, Nov 11, 2011.

I have a question about Google Analytics and why the statistics on Analytics always seem to show so much lower for my website than it does when Awstats and Webalizer. I have noticed that the visits and page views are significantly less. When I look in the others I select no spam and spiders but still get much higher numbers than in Google Analytics. Can anyone explain this to me?

    Thanks!

main difference between this is AWStats use log file analysis method for tracking and GA use Page Tagging. there are lots of article there about differance between log file and page tagging so check them so you will have clear idea.

I accept with him. But when it comes to Awstats or GA I prefer GA. Its a legit one. that ain't mean the Awstats is bad, but GA is better than Awstats. My server just crashed a week ago. I lost all my data in the Awstats. But only my GA helped me. I'm running blogs. the unique visitor no plays an important role in monetizing the blog.

    Have a nice day

You can do way more with GA. Setting goals, filtering, email reports and on an on.

Does that mean that either one or the other is under/over reporting?
