We use Raven Tools, which is a serious, serious life changer for the reporting and insights alone, and SEO to link acquisition and analysis. Hub spot is fantastic as well. IBP is also a good one.

you can use the the tools but tools does not provide you the accurate results,they can provide near about result if they are paid full version, but this can be bit heavy on your pocket. so its better to do manual work.

Well, for analysis or market research you can definitely use tools but when it comes to promotion I will never opt for any such techniques of mass promotion as SEO is a creative work which is bound to be different for different niche. Here creativity and idea is more important a mass submission process.

i don't believe that's a life changer. its your luck that it supported you. nothing else. no tools can give you long time results so be very careful.
