which is better for google? Dmoz or Yahoo paid directory?

None of my competitors have neither, i was wondering about paying that $299 for yahoo ...

What do you think Google prefers, it's obvious it would be harder for Dmoz if maybe never, since I am still waiting...

But Yahoo? ANy experience with website getting better in serps? I know i have other factors that determine good serps but my specific question is about dmoz vs. yahoo paid directory

I can say that in dmoz it takes and 2 years to get approved, i know that i submitted a website 1 year and more and it had not got approved yet, and i submitted to the the right category.
If you want some fast traffic and rankings of course, yahoo is the answer, and even if it doesn't rank that well in google it will do in yahoo and yahoo it is an important company, not like as google of course.

If you do yahoo. Make sure to click right after that you do not want to renew automatically. Just in case you do not want to renew it. They will charge your card every year...

I would do both . Dmoz is a waiting game but well worth the wait and yahoo has good benefits and well worth the money.

I have zero data that proves yahoo submission provided any value. Especially for $299.99 per year.

Well, getting listed on DMOZ is very difficult. But, if somehow, you manage to get listed into it, you may get a good boost.

As far a Yahoo! directory is concerned, no doubt it paid... but it improves your visibility in Yahoo! to a great extent.

Getting listed in yahoo is worth paying for getting rank in yahoo search but it has no importance in google. Dmoz on the other hand had importance once upon a time but these days after several updats. I don't think its worth anymore.

I would rather use that money in advertising, there are other good options like on Facebook.. this may not help much on ranking but more on making your site or your product/service more popular.

I noticed my site did not appear on Yahoo until I paid $299 for the directory listing. This shouldn't be the case but it certainly was the case for me! Dmoz took me months and I finally got listed under my business region. Also look for nice, long established local or country relevant directories.

Both of them are actually helps. Dmoz seems less active now due to lack of editor, yahoo directory is good to generate traffic too, go ahead if your budget allow you to pay for it, $299 per year is not expensive

Just get some good and quality backlinks to your website and that's it! Google will rank your website depending on the quality of links pointing to your website

Hello every one..as a webmaster i can say None..if your website is unique and rich in contents you dont need yahoo neither dmoz..if its good it will go on top with few good links..I have few websites with just 3 or 5 links in its lifetime,i have never done linkbuilding for those neither submissions or never wrote any article but they are right on top 10..It all depends on your pages..Google loves unique contents with just few good links and you are done!!!

If you want fast traffic then yahoo is more efficient than dmoz. Getting listed on Dmoz is somewhat a tough job.
