I am confused! How website without backlinks is in Google 1st Page?

It's no secret Google uses the domain name keyword match which gives it quite a boost. Although my site doesn't even appear for the keywords, I'm also in doubt over the domain name prefference.

Consistant relevency on page seo
Domain name contains keyword
Domain name .com
No outgoing links
Exact incoming links
Social sites reference to your domain name
Listing in numerous directories (which don't always show up as backlinks)
High demand, Low competition for keyword

Don't get confuse.. There are two ways of idea we can handle to work on our website for obtain the Google's first page.

1.traffic
2.PR
based on this we obtained the Google position on first page..

 

Yea, Google algorithms go crazy once in a while. No one really notices. And if they do, Google blames it on a buggy algorithm. If they go on like this, I'm pretty sure Bing will overtake them. They already look refreshingly better.

 

It seems that Google changes algorithm too frequently to make sure spam is not encouraged. So once backlink might be considered as a main factor but after some time it may become secondary factor. Further the quality of backlinks is most important than the quantity. So many factors plays

 

Well it seems to me in regard to number two that Google ranks sites way too highly based on domain name match. Seen it over and over.

 

There are a lot of factors really plus google's algo keeps on changing.

There is two way for get your website on Google , 1. Unique Content and Quality back links, May be that website has low back links but genuine and unique content . so always analyze both things

 

Backlinks is important in page rank but this is not the only basis for it. There could be other factors like relevance, quality, and the value that site provides. The site may not have backlinks but it could be giving plenty of value to the searchers. I think that freereport.sourceforge.net being a subdomain of sourceforge.net is also a factor to it ranking 2 for that keyword.

 

Well, in my opinion, it showed that quality backlink still have great effect on SEO, showed on the site #4. The site #1 & #3 may have thousands of backlinks but the site #4 got only 50 backlinks from homepage of related, high pagerank, aged domain. It clearly shows that quality can still stand against quantity. CMIIW.

 

I had a very generic keyword in my domain name and I had the #1 and #2 spots easily (granted it wasn't in English). Very few backlinks and moderate traffic. So yeah, probably not that important.
