I've recently been introduced to FOREX trading and it seems interesting. But I was thinking, is it not just gambling? Is there a difference?
As far as I know, it requires a sufficient amount of knowledge about global financial systems and international politics and geopolitics. So, in short, gambling is the last thing I would use to describe Forex trading.
If you don't know what you're doing of course it's gambling. Otherwise, it's about predicting the future through current world events and economic indicators.
No doubt that Forex activity is gambling and you can be sure that you are not a gambler in this game. They just make you feel mighty in financial question, but seriously you are just a skilled employer and helps them earn money.

Its not gambling, there is a huge risk in forex but its not like you are walking into a casino. Knowledge is key here about markets and economics.

If you're asking this, you're really new to forex.. I know this old chap who rakes in at least $50,000 USD a month and he rarely loses a trade. Once he got a $40,000 within 2 hours just because I emailed him about my situation. (I was losing $2,000). Forex isn't gambling. Lottery is.
It is honestly much better than gambling, as you have a lot more information and statistics to base your decisions on.
IMO, gambling is more of a negative term. if you dont know how forex works or you dont have a strategy than yes, forex is like gambling. otherwise, real forex traders do not gamble, at least not the ones making money.

forex and trading is like gambling and closer to poker. You can do it professionally and consistently make a profile while others do such a bad job of it that it is gambling to them. Professional poker players argue that poker is a game of skill. Trading can be as well.
It's depend on you...you will get gambling if you use it as short way to get rich, but if you want to develop you mind and skill, FOREX will teach you how to manage the money and how to anticipate for all issue in the world into your policy for business strategy.
