    MingJong, good breakdown! In addition to trishseo's reply, besides authority and trust sites, you need diversity: different types of domains, IP addresses, and site type. A nice mix from around the globe would be key.

    Yeah i agree with you. I have seen many sites having 0 PR are ranking on the 1st position in Google search results. So i don't think PR matters in Google ranking.

    In the technology overview page Google declares more than 200 signals, including PageRank, determines a site's Google ranking. Extensive discussions have already been done about this around the internet. But I did not get any updated list with 200 distinct factors except an attempt at vaughns-1-pagers. Though this attempt also listed the same point in different way in more than one case. Hence I have given a fresh look at this old topic with some new angles in mind, those we have witnessed in last few Google algorithm changes.     What about well written content? What about pages which are updated regularly with new information or comments? I think directory submissionn is a waste of time and money but actually producing a website people find useful or entertaining must be how some sites become successful...
