Keyword Density is the percentage of occurrence of your keywords to the text in the rest of your webpage. It is important for your main keywords to have the correct keyword density to rank well in Search Engines.

 

Keyword density was an important part of SEO about few years back but then people tried to cheat and cram the keywords into their webpages. So now the search engines give less importance to the keyword density. It is good to have 4-5% keyword density. It will also be good to write meaningful content that is not copied from somewhere else and include some related keywords (also known as LSI keywords) within the content of your page. Do not worry too much about keyword density as it if not the only factor that decides the sites ranking
