SEO Getting more and more Tough??

With improved algorithms and ranking factors Google is now on its way of success in providing top quality search results. Building some crappy links in some websites will not make it a high ranking website as it used to years back.. Any Thoughts???

 

It's only natural to be tougher to rank high on search engines since there are thousands new websites build every hour so the competition is tougher, on the other hand there are so many new sources of traffic social media, forums, blogs etc that you can easily get traffic to your site even if you don't rank high on search engines...

 

It is getting tougher to rank well with chosen keywords. As more people enter the marketplace, the more competitive it becomes. No matter if we're talking on line or offline.

To get ranked and then have staying power takes consistent and persistent work - and this is where the few shine - they do the right things, in the right order, over and over and over. It's not glamorous but it must be done.

 

I'm new to SEO, so thank you, Randyrandola. I like any activity that rewards hard work and dedication!

My background is in marketing, so I can see why Google wants their ranking to reflect what people want. Marketing is supposed to be about identifying needs and then meeting them, but it is often approached as manipulating people into buying something they don't need.

Of course, my attitude may change as my career progresses!

Their search results are still manipulated and full of crap.

But what has happened is in competitive profitable niches BIG BUSINESS has moved in and bought placement. And I mean placement in ORGANIC SEARCH.

If there is money to be made big business will buy out the competition and take over.

The way they rank is to purchase links on sites that matter. And that's just the way it is.

 

I agree with you! I know its very hard to be on top or 1st page on Google but I still find ways to get traffic to my site. I don't mind if I rank or not, important thing is I bring traffic to my site and convert that traffic to sales.

Well that was bound to happen. As more and more people get into this field and they try to take shortcuts by making crappy sites and backlinks, search engines like Google were bound to act sooner than later. Most people don't realize that there are no shortcuts to online riches and they need to work hard to build and promote a site. In a way it is good because now only sites that have good content and backlinks can rank high so it will force people to focus on quality.

SEO is online marketing and this time market has much fluctuation and competition. So in SEO is also tough. But id proper way worked SEO is eassy. First of all find keywords which u have targeted. Bcoz keywords is primary stage and very important and then after u have work SEO Activities.

 

SEO is definitely getting harder as there is a lot of competition and also some are able to rank higher by spending money but all can not do this.

 

Although, Google is releasing new algorithms to filter junk results... but, even today, you can see some crappy websites in the results page.

I completely agree with the O.P.'s point that users are getting refined results but still there are many webmasters who are ranking good with some blackhat techniques.

 

Crappy sites and links won't make it to top position on Google search engine at least not with the presence of Google panda. It will pull the site off.

 

Yes, trafic is the most important, and old tricks won't do it (links exchange,links schemas,copying content) all this is because there are many more and more blogs every day and they need to be more selective on this matter

 

No I think it's just changing and people need to do things differently.
Today, you have to integrate social media in you seo campaing for exemple which was not the cas before.
The thing is that there is more competition out there today, imo

 

It's not tough if you are doing the right thing, build quality content, get natural links.

Try to have some websites to make experiments on what works and what's not working.

 

Yes, I agree that it is getting tougher as the competition increases (and will continue to do so) ...no surprise here. Fortunately, there are infinite (and sometimes weird) terms that people use for search....this means that there are many ways to for a site to rank and still possibly get a decent amount of traffic.

 

I like this....this is the core of SEO and the difference between good SEOers and the poor ones, traffic and convertion to sales are the most important thing, boss will never care about how your website looks like but only cares about how much money they get and the cost for everything!

 

yes it getting tough now-a-days, with the launch of Google Panda 2.5 its a tough competition to remain a good ranking. We need to focus more on the content.

Its good that SEO is getting tougher because now not just anyone who doesnt have proper knowledge can bring his site up just by posting some links. Now to get high ranking one will need skilled personel who have a through knowledge of the subject.
