Haven't tried creating a server on fedora.however, most people in the Fedora community recommend REDHAT. fedora is base on RHE.
Ithink most of the derivatives these days aren't actually design to be a server.however they can be configured as one. CentOS is a good option.

Yes, CentOS is recommended over Fedora for a good reason... Fedora is thought to be more
"cutting edge" than other distros, and for a server distro, "cutting edge" isn't necessary a good thing.

On my own server I run Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, based on rock-solid Debian. If I ever was to switch
server distro, I would probably leave the Linux for BSD. OpenBSD is supposed to be a
very good server distro. But at the moment I'm sticking to Ubuntu! :D

BSD is better than Linux but we don't call them 'distro' cause they are not distributions in the same sense as Linux has their spinoffs. FreeBSD is my choice but, yes, OpenBSD is great.

Many *nix programs don't work in Windows. That's why Windows sucks.

Technically you are right! Perhaps the BSD's ought to be expelled from Distrowatch, then? ;)

Ubuntu is safe for working condition but how about if you need repository? Cause when we install a program in Windows platform just by click the .exe program, it's different with ubuntu,

For now, i have two laptops, (high end and low end) and want to change os from Windows XP to become Ubuntu

Yes. With Ubuntu, you go to the Ubuntu repository instead and click "install". Very different.

There are some softwares made especially for windows so i doubt if there is any way people will simply migrate to ubuntu or any other linux distro. It's apps that people use. not every app is on cloud and not every app supposed to work online. that is why windows is still in demand.

Linux runs your phone, your tablet, your router and the internet.

Haven't tried OpenBSD either but i think my computer will work on it. ubuntu is indeed a great distro with huge support from the community however the distro somehow is consuming computer resources.it requires more RAM these days compare to its derivative like mint, bodhilinux and etc.
