    When you make a thread with attachment see at the top of text box there a option is attach a file.

    it is for uploading files. If you have any kind of doc, excel sheet or other non-executable files then you can upload it for other users.

    It entails uploading a file from your local computer and attaching it to your post, just the same way you attach files to email messages.

    Attachment is just uploading a file which is non-exe file. Member have to download that file to see what is inside that file. But image file can be seen without downloading.
