Hi guys, I've spent the best part of 3 days combing through the jungle of advertising publishers, and am about to tear my hair out. I run 2 websites. Both are based in Scotland. One is a local news site for a small area, which has a good penetration of the market here. The area has a population of 80,000, we have approx. 40-50,000 uniques per month. It achieves over a million pageviews per month. The other is a Scottish politics site, which achieves over 2 million pageviews a month. Both are growing steadily. I've been denied from several networks, went through automatic approval for 3, am waiting for a response from a few. Thus far, the ones who I have signed up to, AdBrite have provided fairly pitiful returns of $0.02 CPM, Clicksor seems to plain not work, but would likely have the same $0.02 rate as AdBrite. I believe there must be a provider who will pay a reasonable amount for this traffic. All I really want is a few quid per day to cover the work that goes into both sites. Does anyone have any suggestions for a network to try? Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.
Chitika is not CPM as far as I know. Have you tried ValueClick, Burst Media? They are the ones that will probably pay you the best.
Much obliged, Casale already rejected it, and I'm pretty sure Tribal Fusion are closer to half a million than 60 thousand. Do you have any CPM rates for comparison? Also... any insider info on what these websites scrutinise besides hard numbers when deciding approval?
Are you serious!!! forget chitika it hardly pays penny I think so they have just purchased review about them self on Internet but doesn't pay good to publisher
You should work with few ad networks at the same time. This strategy can help to increase your revenue. Try ValueClick and Fidelity Media. Of course if your sites haven't any illegal content...
you can also try miva, plexious and affinity - they have very competitive cpcs, they always pay on time.. check them out
You could also try buysellads. You offer the ad spots and mention the price you want for the 30 days period. Advertisers who like your site will pay. You can accept or reject advertisers.
Is Buysellads really so good? Can ANY site find advertiser quickly using this service? I've some doubts...
Do you know why you were denied? You seem to be seeing a decent volume of pageviews, and politics and local sites aren't generally a problem for advertisers wanting to protect their brand - although I suppose it depends on the politics and the place. ValueClick Media and Burst Media are great networks if you haven't already applied. It might be worth looking at AdConion or AdPepper as well. For your local site - I would imagine the best option by far would be to sell ads directly to local advertisers though - that should generate you much higher eCPMs.
