    Hi

    For a some keywords my articles direct links are not appearing in the search instead my tag links are appearing.

    say: http://example.com/tag/iphone

    Is it normal to have tag links in search or should i block search engine not to index my tag links.

    No nothing wrong in tag index. It can help in ranking upto some extent but google do not consider meta tag description as a seo factor now .

    It is applicable for some site which actually helps on their site indexing, as well as visitors to filter the pages they want to visit. It should be fine if you think your visitors need it.

    You can safely have the links, it is even better. However make sure there are no duplicated pages
