I made a website need some help to get started

I am very new to this field.
I wanna know what things I should do first to get some people to my site.
Can anyone share nice ideas to get people on site and what should be my statergy in starting.

Help me.

You need to go for SEO at the first. On your side what you can do is Create profile on twitter, facebook, google plus, linkedlin. Now keep yourself updated on all this sites. Create fanpage on Facebook, make followers & do follow other people of interest too. Add your friends & keep updating.
