    Who said? .edu backlinks are VERY good for SEO because they are a reliable source of information (and Google knows that). So, the more .edu backlinks you have, the better your page rank is basically and the higher your SERP's.

    Edu links are good but not better than any kind of High PR links dude. .edu better than .org. actually the main thing is that nothing of these are actually valuable. .com/ .org/ .inf all are same if they have High PR.

    The most preferable domain extentins i think with the series like this 1. .com, 2. .gov, 3. .edu these are top level domains.

    Its depend upon what type of website you have. if you have education website .edu is better option for you. if you have organization website .org is best for you.

    Both are good but Edu is more better than org Actually Edu is a sponsored top-level domain & org good for non-profit organizations.

    .edu, .gov, .org are the authority sites. If you are getting backlinks from these sites then it is considered as high pr authority backlinks. & your website easily got cached in the search engines
