    Hi,

    Is it illegal to sell online marketing related to social media.

    Like selling facebook likes, or selling a post on facebook or a tweet on a twitter account ?
    Answering question with backlink on yahoo answers, including a link on a youtube video ?

    I am not talking about selling facebook, or any account, just like views on youtube, answers on yahoo, facebook likes, tweet on twitter accounts.

    I don't understand the question. I think you understand you cannot sell a facebook or twitter account.

    What you can do is sell Public Relation services, which include working up facebook and twitter accounts for your client to use. Is this what you mean?

    I believe it's more along the lines of buying a package of 100 likes or something for a Facebook page, or paying for a sponsored Tweet. I'm sure the first example is be against the Facebook TOS. The latter might be more complicated. In the US, the FTC requires disclosure of any payments/special benefits exchanged, but that's pretty hard to fit into a 140 character message. I'm not a lawyer, but that's at least something to think about.

    What I mean is what ajwalsh wrote. If it's illegal, why website like fiverr or any other one are not illegal , many people sell that kind of stuff (facebook likes,youtube views,twitter followers , ect ) ?

    I don't think it is illegal. There are hundreds of such sites offering the services. BTW, one should check with the respective site if they are allowing to do so.

    Why not?

    I could see where, for instance, a company would sell its Facebook account.

    It has a FB page about violins, decides to get out of the violin business, so its it sells violin assets - which include the access information and information on the page.
