    Open cart is open source hence budget for your site will be less
    X cart is average.
    For Magento you have to buy license but you can get the maximum features in Magento. One more thing because of so many feature magento site is always heavy to load. Some time magento site runs slow.

    I love Magento, it's a bit hard on the inexperienced but the free version has an amazing array of features and won't cost you anything beyond a decent host.

    I really think all of the most popular carts are going to be somewhat equal on the SEO factor due to the additional plugins you can add, the way you can edit the core files and you're true knowledge of SEO.

    I would also consider other factors in choosing a cart: How easy is it to cross sell, up-sell, etc? What kind of traffic are you looking for? How much control of user or user accounts do you need? Just some things to think about.

    Some thoughts on speed again - I really believe the speed of a shopping cart is an important SEO factor.

    Think about it:

    - Good speed means clean code
    - Good speed means better user experience
    - Good speed means better internet etc. etc.

    So the speed of your shopping cart matters a lot.

    Why not go check the various carts with Google's new PageSpeed checker:

    developers.google.com/pagespeed/

    My guess is that OpenCart will outrun all others, especially the heavy-weight Magento that can be really slow and if not heavily optimized and running on dedicated server hardware.

    OpenCart rules - especially when it comes to speed and clean coding!
