Page Rank depends on how many backlinks you do have. Get more backlinks from relevant dofollow sites to increase your page rank.

True, but PR also has nothing to do with relevance either hence why a lower PR page can outrank a higher PR page.

Today traffic and rankings matters most, yet few clients are after PR improvements and for that you have to build backlinks from high PR sites. If you will update your blog with fresh and unique contents then it will certainly helps you to gain more traffic and achieve higher rankings.

Why are you so desperate for PR. Its just a number and don't do much in traffic and ranking. Consider traffic and SERPs rank for your blog and you will be benefited most.

Google does not give PageRank to a particular site by considering number posts but gives PageRank by considering number of most valuable content pages and also considers number of quality backlinks to those pages. Forget about worrying about PageRank but worry about improving the page content quality and also worry about quality backlinks from popular social networks like Facebook, Digg, Google+, StumbleUpon and etc.

Simply - Page Rank comes from Page Rank,

You must link from sites with page rank to get page rank. Depnding on the sites you link froms Page rank, determines your page rank.

Page rank websites that have your link in it will increase you in the serps for your keyword.

The serp positioning is determined by the type of link you have, header, footer, sidebar, blogroll, widget links, hold little relevance to serp increase, but contextual links will increase your positioning in the serps. So it is the quality of the link and also the quality of the site.

But to increase your PR, it goes back to the first sentence - Page Rank comes from Page Rank

Don't achieve much on the PR. Link your blog with high PR instead.
