    Search Engine, Direct Traffic or Referring Sites? On google analytics what is the ideal percentage of each source of traffic?

    There is not a huge difference in my traffic:

    Search Engines (38.78%)

    Direct Traffic (31.82%)

    Referring Sites (29.40%)

    IMO i say search engines are good to get revenue and new users to sites, direct traffic is also good because people are hearing about you or returning to the site. Referring sites is also good because you get backlinks and people want to refer you.

    so pretty much everything is good just depends what you want.

    Search engine traffic is best for me, referring sites second and direct traffic third (don't tend to get a great deal of direct traffic at the moment).

    I think it depends on what type of site you are running... if you have a site that is like many other sites' content out there, than SEO really matters and should be a priority... but if you have a niche or community site, then site/forum referrals and memorization will propel you much farther.

    for my site 90% of my traffic comes from search engines, but i suppose it depends upon your niche and where you focus your advertising efforts

    The best source of traffic should be the one coming from search engines. They provide the best conversion rate because basically the visitors that arrive are the one purely interested in what they are looking for.

    For all my sites, the main source of traffic are the search engines. About 90% of traffic for my sites are from search engines.

    Most of my traffic is from search engines, unless I Stumble a new page or blog post, then most of it is from StumbleUpon!

    Your traffic distribution is good. Try more on search engine traffic. Because search engine traffic will generate the money more compare to other source of traffic. :)
