Do I need Google?

Is Google that important for my business to be successful online? I only read articles about how online businesses depend so much on Google for their own sake. I wonder if there’s a way to avoid this search Engine and still be successful.

We have a couple of websites in various industries and Google is still the biggest saerch engine that people use. If I look at our Analytics stats it comes to between 70-80% of visitors that come from Google. So, to answer your question...it's a must.

Google is #1 search engine now a days. If your website is visible in Google first page then you'll get enough business.

Google has not yet decided whether it will publish the price index, and has not released its methodology.
The new indices lead to the big question of whether the government needs to update its methods to account for changes in the economy—taking new pricing trends into consideration, rejiggering its formula, updating more frequently.

You could try Yahoo or Bing and get only 5% of potential customers, your choice.

It depends on your location (country) Google has about 65% marketshares of search queries in the U.S, and about 90-95% marketshares in some European countries.
You might have the possibility to be successful without Google (some local business) but I doubt that you would be succesfull without the services of any search engine

Honestly speaking, you can not avoid google. If you manage to run online business without google then you have to make popular your site through making ads on newspaper, TV etc. When you will get much poplar the google will find you and index your site. So you can't escape.........

You don't have to become preoccupied with Google. If you follow best practices for good quality content that is useful to your website visitors everything will fall into place. And there are many ways to generate traffic other than Google. Having a large subscriber list is one way. Employing a back linking strategy is another. But, it's kind of like the ecosystem. Everything works in balance with each other. If you seek out back links for all of your traffic, generally, you will do well in Google as well.

Google will be the main source of traffic you will receive from search engines. So you decide if you need google or not...
