    i dint get your question. You said tha you are using google analytics then you are tracking the visitors. Where is the problem? Can you tell me in detail?

    are you learning google analytic or you have already installed the script of google analytic on your site.
    I am asking this because you have to upload the google analytic script in the header of every page of your site.

    After doing this you can track your visitors easily.
    One more what kind of information related to visitor you want to track

    I just want to know how to find out the person who has visited the website for example if a person has visited the website from chennai, with this information how am i supposed to work out.

    Click on "Visitor" in the Left Panel > Click on "Map Overlay", you will get the data country-wise & city-wise.

    Google analytics can only tell you the traffic on YOUR site. Also, google analytics is more advanced for beginner users so I suggest using histats.com.

    My friend if you are facing problem in operating google analytic then you should see the training videos that are available on google site as well as on you tube.

    If you are thinking of reading a book then do not go for that because that will take a really long time. Better option to see video and I am sure that in a span of week you will learn the analytics completely.

    Tracking means to keep a record of what the customers are doing on your site or what they did. If you mean that then it is not possible to do this, if you mean to know where the visitors are from and what keywords they used to come to your site or the time they spent on your site. Then the second option is possible.

    what kind of visitors will you want to track? purely the visitors? or their demographics, source of visitors, time on page and stuff?
