I was hoping somebody would help me in the right direction. I have a 5 year old blog with 500 posts and getting approx 2000 uniques daily. The only problem is the blog only making $80 a month with adsense. i havent used any other means of revenue generation. I am quite stumped here because so much traffic but no money $$$. Am i missing something here? Please help!!!
you can consider this few things - ads placement (good place would be above the post below post title, 336x280 for example) - your niche (some niche gives really low cpc, e.g news niche, i have news niche with 1000 uv daily only gave me around 1$/day) - i use ads filter on my adsense account, so it won't display an ads from website with low cpc ads campaign
You should sell some banners, i'm sure people would buy banners from you, since you have 60k UV visitors a month. Just show them to proof. Adsense, hm... whats your CPC, CPI ?
Have you considered promoting other peoples products through affiliate marketing? Check out www.clickbank.com.
Definitely put up some CPA stuff, some banners and anything that will give you a return. Split test them and go for the best performing options.
1. i am using some banners, but thats affiliate banners 2.i experiemented adsense placements no improvements. 3. i just added infolinks. How much revenue can clickbank can bring in? any ideas? Thanks saladflorida, i just ticked unperforming filter categories in adsense. how much doing this will increase the revenue??? any ideas??
Hi, Can you post your blogs URL so we can take a look please? Or at least give some info about the niche, keywords cost per click etc.... How long does the the average visitor stay on your site, what is your bounce rate? If a lot of people are leaving your site quickly they may not even look at your adsense ads. Are your ad blocks positioned in the best possible position for maximum views? Post a little more info please and maybe a few people here can give you more focused help. Good luck, Dave
olddocks - what is the website about? Monetizing a website comes down to why people are coming to your website. Figure out intent and then cash in
Mind that popups are highly paying. I suggest to find a great affilate and place 1 popup per 10 reloads,or somthing simmilar
olddocks - you are offering free help.( not a bad thing ) Basically freebie seekers. 1. You need to look for offers that automate the service you promote. 2. Since you have a learning oriented crowd - affiliate with someone like lynda.com - its a low cost training center 3. Add affiliate links when promoting other services in posts. 4. Start another website that sells products 5. Sell product reviews for peoples items. ( fiverr - I will review and post your product on my PR3 site for $5) You could probably redesign a bit to max out adsense clicks but I think you have a technology savvy crowd.
I would definatley place some affiliate products on your site with that much traffic. A low percentage of conversions will still do better than just $80/month from the adsense. Try clickbank and look for products with high payouts, posting your hoplinks with products pertainning to your blog. You might also advertise MLM sites you belong to , to get sign ups, or other affiliate sites. I use tripleclick for my affiliate marketing center.
How is the visitor distribution by country? Try to make the visitors come from different parts of the world rather than local. It would improve ad revenues.
I tried using infolinks and clickbank ads for past 2 days now. Infact i made $0.60 with infolinks and $0 with clickbank. so its clearly not working!!!
What niche does your blog focus on? If you can get ads that compliment the niche, you might start seeing sales come in.
Have you experimented with 728x90 banner ads? Because CPC for them is more and you can earn double the revenue if you have the same no of visitors
Sometimes it depends on not just the traffic but the quality of the traffic, if they are able to be monetized
It is really bad to get 0$ with ClickBank. I tried it before and i get 0$ too. With a honest way i get nothing with CB and my site like yours. Anyway, your main problem is "target" i think. Make you blog more niche my friend.
