    Selling my company: Agares Media
    http://www.agaresmedia.com

STARTING BID: $15,000 USD (between 4 & 5 months revenue)
BUY IT NOW PRICE: $45,000 USD (between 16 & 20 months revenue)
    PAYMENT: escrow.com
    _____________________________________________________
    Intro

As much as I would love to continue running this site and developing these products, I have a family that I would like to spend some time with, and I'd like to focus exclusively on game development business-wise. For these reasons I am possibly looking to sell AgaresMedia.com. Starting bid is $15,000 USD, which is about half a years revenue. Sales have been consistent over the last two years, hitting a high of $4200 in a month, and a low of just under $2000 for a month, generally holding steady between $3000 and $3500 per month. There are very little expenses other than the hosting bill ($144 per month for a dedicated server)

I'm looking for a sale completed via the escrow service, Escrow.com only. This protects both myself and you during the transaction.

    Total Traffic & Sales Data
I've had Google Analytics installed and integrated into the ecommerce side of AgaresMedia.com since the site was first launched. Three disclaimers regarding the Google Analytics data:

    1. There is a 3 month gap between December 27, 2007 and March 19, 2008 where Google Analytics was not installed on the site.

    2. All income reported on Google Analytics only counts sales made through our e-commerce store. Manual sales, forum sales, and email sales are not included in the sales data here, which account for about 1/3rd of all sales.

    3. Not all pages have the Google Analytics code installed

Without further ado, here are the following reports:

My Role Before & After the Sale
If you end up buying Agares Media, I will help with the transfer of the site, under the following conditions:

    TRANSFERRING THE SITE
Transferring a site such as AgaresMedia.com takes a lot of work... unless we do it one of the following ways:

    1) We do a cPanel to cPanel transfer. This is super easy, and will ensure everything works on both ends. I've done it before 3 times with AgaresMedia.com

    2) or, as an alternative we could simply let you take over the Quad core server I am currently renting from SoftLayer.com The cost is $144 per month, which is pretty cheap.

If you need to transfer the site using a different method than the two above, then I cannot be of assistance and you will need to hire outside help.

    HELP IN THE SUPPORT FORUMS
I will provide (almost) daily help via the support forums to customers for 2 weeks after the sale if requested. I will also maintain an indefinite presence on the AgaresMedia.com forums and will help users when and where I can. However, this is all voluntary.

    WHAT I WILL NOT DO
I will not write any code or otherwise work on any projects for AgaresMedia.com without additional compensation/agreements being negotiated beforehand. This sale is for the company and products as is. You will be responsible for product updates from the date of purchase. I will be available to answer your questions, but without working out an additional deal please do not expect me to devote time to your projects. I'm selling this company because I need some free time, and that's exactly what I intend to do with my time unless we work out a prior agreement to keep me on board longer.

You've been added to the Analytics account.

Please keep in mind the following disclaimers regarding the Google Analytics data:
EDIT: Regarding the end of the auction, I'd like to give it at least a week to see what the market value potential is, and to allow time for all interested parties to become aware of the sale.

Fantastic sale post. Good job being so clear and in-depth. :)

Probably a dumb question, but seeing that the biggest source of sales comes from "direct" referral, is it safe to say these are return customers who have ordered before?

I'm also sending you a PM.

I am not interested in bidding, I'd just like to say that Agares Media's Arcadem Pro is an awesome piece of software, and I have one license already purchased. Plus, I recommended it to several people :) For everyone who has money for this, I advise you to take it :)

You should probably try selling this site on flippa and warrior too, you are likely to find better prices :)

@ Helvetti: I don't know about warrior but I don't think the seller can even sell it for the starting bid on flippa... I've tried to sell several similar sites there, and always had a very hard time selling there because flippa buyers are mostly looking for auto-pilot sites... I guess what I'm trying to say is I wouldn't bother selling a site like this, on flippa, it's a waste of time (and money). My 2 cents.

I'm also another satisfied customer and would like to add my 2 cents. First off, the product is great. It's great for young teens who want to run an arcade, it's great for those who are very serious about the flash game industry, yet lack php knowledge or website management. With a bit of customization (I don't know php at all, but have been able to work my way around) the sites can look fantastic, function very well and achieve great traffic and page ranks. My current site is around 160k on Alexa and at a PR4, it's been worked on for about 9 months and has always used this script.

Something to consider for buyers, the flash game industry is on the rise, it's becoming more and more popular and is considered a real industry at this point. Flash games are selling in the 5 digit figures and game sponsorships are many peoples jobs these days, including mine. With this in mind, many novices to the industry will appear in future and many of them will need an arcade script because they lack the knowledge to program in PHP. That said, Arcadem Pro is a highly possible pick for these people. When I see talks of which script to pick, it's this and one other, so there's not much competition.

Quick question. When this sale is completed, will the affiliate program still work? Are there any changes users need to be aware of?

Good luck with the sale, give it more than a week if you don't get what you're looking for. You have a great product here and deserve to be paid for it, best of luck.

Disregard the last...for benefit of those wondering...it was DNS issue that's been fixed. Good product and I look forward to moderating under the new owner if I am kept on board after the sale.

As far as I am concerned Agares Media has folded. The owner had stated he would have it back up ASAP under a new theme, but we are going on a month now. I would not plan on seeing it back anytime soon. If you can buy it from the current owner go for it. You'll have to do a whois lookup and make an offer. Right now things are not looking good and fans of this product would love to see it back up and running.
