    Hello,

I have read a lot about this new thing called cloud but some of the articles I have read which I found using Google Search I find very hard to understand exactly what it is by "Cloud" I am referring to as Wikipedia calls it Cloud Computing.

    What I read here:

I just don't understand what that means. If someone could please explain this to me in simple terms that would be awesome and greatly appreciated. :)

    Regards.

    Hi,

Cloud if talked with context to the Internet, like "put something on the cloud.." etc. is actually putting something on the net. To be able to access from different devices like smart phones, laptops, etc.

Cloud computing also referred to as Grid computing is a new way to organize computer servers in hosting companies primarily. In this way a bunch of computers joined together with virtualization technology offer a better resource distribution and service quality to customers.

How it is done? Well the traditional model was of dedicated server serving a multiple accounts on one computer, when one account over used resources of that computer, all the rest got effected noticeably. In grid hosting multiple computers are joined together and if one account is demanding high resources at a specific point of time multiple computers serve it simultaneously. This in turn avoids bottlenecks and slowdowns for other accounts.

    Hope this helps.

So basically, its going to be used to make the internet work faster kinda like how downloading something is from one source can take a while but with "torrents" over the downloading from many computers at once makes it faster, sorry if i'm wrong but is that what it could be considered similar to? Except instead of the file downloading its going for sharing resources over mass computers?

Cloud computing enables users to share resources using cloud technology on the internet. The google chromebook is an example of a cloud computer.

Cloud computing, a way to increase capacity or add capabilities on the fly without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software. If you understand english then you'll comprehend.

Cloud is simply to have access any information and that information cane be access from anywhere and what ever devices one is using or any software that your device has. In Cloud computing there should be no bottle necks or delays, everyone can access that information simultaneously by different user. In Cloud computing there should be no downtime also.
