I launched a wallpaper site, now what next?

I have launched a wallpaper site recently. Now what do I have to do to increase traffic in that??
anybody got any new ideas for this?

what you guys say about making a small archive file with may be a 100 photos and uploading it to torrent site with each picture containing my website name?
will it cause anything bad to my website?

Try and create some backlinks for your site to increase your ranking in Google and traffic will come.

 

is it that manual forum and blog commenting or can i do anything else?

 

Torrent uploads are not a bad idea, just make sure to find a free uploader to automate it. You really only need to upload to like the top 1-5 (after a day or two the others will pick them up anyway).

Google images (mass uploads) with a link to your site works.

Social media (tumblr is great for wallpaper sites).

How are you monitizing? Most people don't like to pay for wallpaper anymore. Personally I would use either adsense, or better yet, an email/zip submit content locker with a CPA network.

what is a free uploader?
Google images (mass uploads) with a link to your site works. <= I didnt get this?
Just posting images on tumblr is enough, or do i have to do anything else?

Try setting up a referral system - IE Get your visitors to send it to their friends, and they get free wall papers / mp3's etc!!!

 

Second thing you need to do is target on getting traffic.
Target the keywords like free wallpaper, download wallpaper , destop wallpaper and so on .
Beside that you may exchange more link with other. Because most of people looking for destop wallpaper, they will likely to link here and there to search for the wallpaper.

 

Get your site as many backlinks as possible. I manually submit mine to about 10 sites per day. Takes around 20-30mins but in the long run will build a good number of back links.

One site you can use is www.directoryroll.com although there are many more directories with list of free sites you can submit to. If you can find ones which offer reciprocal linking then all the better as two way links are much stronger than one way.

 

For a site like yours just about anything you do will help. Honestly, it's easy to get traffic for stuff like this... for example have a look at some of these sites:
(i cant post links yet so just pretend those dashes are dots)
donkeymails - com
Adf - ly
ListJoe - com
...others like those above, they are all traffic exchange/paid to click sites.
What you could do is simply put your site up on these mailing lists, and pay for some super cheap advertising with the others. I know there are issues with bots and junk traffic but honestly a good chunck of the traffic from SOME of these sites is still human traffic. Now, one thing you will want to keep in mind though... If you are using AdSense to monitize you can't put your site up on these things. However, and this is just a maybe... you still run a risk of google gettin mad at you, but... if you created some sort of landing page, super simple just a single page with no ads on it where people can click and be taken directly to your site with ads and everything on it then you MIGHT be good to go.
And if none of it works, well... at the worst you'll have spent a few bucks and learned a lesson. I've personally had decent results with this type of traffic, you might too. Just gotta test it out for yourself.

 

I suggest keeping two copies of each wall paper, one with a water mark and one without. User can get the one with the water mark just by downloading, the one without the watermark the should complete a survey.

 

Use social media , buy links. Share some wallpaper at forums ( content must include your ads).

Have you tried DeviantArt or Flikr or Photobucket? If you own these images/wallpaper then you can upload them to those sites with a link back to your own.

 

i don't own it for real! its wallpapers i collected all these years from my friends and other free wallpaper downloads! :/

 

There are websites like abduzeedo - com (replace dash for a dot) that showcase amazing wallpapers and other creative art. Maybe you could contact them and see if they can help. Getting another website to showcase your work can get you a lot of traffic and also good backlinks.
