When i was still a beginner webmaster, there were three things i always do every time to get traffic
    1. Social Bookmarking
    2. Guest Blogging
    3. Blog Commenting

They used to work fine for me. They will do the same for you too.

I would totally make a simple video and post it to Youtube.

If you optimize it properly and get a lot of views (even through a Fiverr gig) then it can rank high in the search engines.

There is great advice in this thread!

You have the determination to do this!! Make sure your content is unique and keeps your audience engaged. Building a relationship with you visitors is HUGE!

Take all the traffic methods described above and master each one a little at a time.

One of the things that made a big difference in my income was building a list. It is well worth the effort to build a relationship and trust with your visitors. A list more than tripled my income and the great thing is you can automate the majority of it!!

Good luck and hold your head high. Keep on pushing through - you have the attitude it takes to succeed.

httpmax, have you ever tried following a course?
I mean consistently doing things in a certain order to improve your rankings? I used a course by Ed Dale a while back and it helped me.
I ended up with spot 7 on google and spot 1 on bing, and had a few ezine articles of mine ranking spot 5 and 9.
His course used to be called "The 30 Day Challenge" but now he changed it to "The Challenge"
His course is completely free and literally doesn't cost you anything except the basics such as your website, hosting, and if you want Email Marketing software.

I am not sure if I can post links on here or not so just google "The Challenge" <-- with the quotes, its like the 3rd one down and it has a .co extension.

But if you just want to know the basic list of marketing methods here is one:
Article Marketing - I just made a post on the proper way to do this here (forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2273579)
    Video Marketing
    Forum Marketing
    Social Marketing
    Classified Ads
    Answer Sites like Yahoo Answers
    Blogging
    Product Reviews
    Backlinking
    Press Releases
    Email Marketing
    SEO
    PPC Campaigns
    Blog Commenting
    Sitemaps and Search Engine Submits
    Social Bookmarking

Hope I helped you and anyone else looking for this info,

    Jeff K.

personally I don't do much SEO anymore, but know it is very competitive. I do recommend PPC but make sure you study first or it can become very expensive

    Hi there,

Building traffic can be a very big headache. There is a site that you can build traffic by submitting an article to it. This site is free and it lets you select 30 different blogging sites to send your article to. You can of course purchase the paying site but you don't have to. Trust me I use this site and you would not believe the amount of traffic that starts to roll in and of course the backlinks that you gain with it. The name of the site is called "Free Traffic System" You will not regret it.
