Keyword density is always such a controversial topic in the SEO world. Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

Yes it is very important. The keywords density helps google crawlers determine how relevant is your site for a keyword which haz a bigger density. Some people say that the keyword density must be between 5%-10%. Anyway what is beyond 15% it is considered spam.

    Good luck

First understand that there are organic or "in-text" keywords, and there are meta keywords. Select View Source in your browser, and you'll find the meta keyword line... (Left arrow omitted)meta name="keywords" content="keyword density, keyword, density, page, phrase, optimization, search, engine, determining, whether, relevant, factor, specified, used, words, appears, such, controversial, always, important, topic, compared, total, times, percentage, world, number" /(Right arrow omitted) Your best bet is to have the domain name (and/or page name) match or include the page title, headings on the page and the paragraphs. Include related words in the text as well. Meta keywords have impact when they are supported by the other keyword locations, and very little if they are not.

There's alot of percentages and formulas flying around in the SEO world about keyword density. From working on client projects (I am talking major retail clients who have SEO budgets of $20,000 + a month) we aim for 2-3 x keywords repetitions in a short page, and 4-6 x on longer pages. The most important thing is that it is easy and natural to read, so you will naturally get people staying on the page longer (and the longer a visitor stays on your site the better result for your SEO - "bounce rate"). There's no need for following any formula or percentage really :) Add an image on the page and rename the filename to your keyword + the alt attribute. Another bonus is to add a video on the same page with the keyword in its title. After the Panda update, on page videos are helping in rankings BIG time.

I feel that keyword density is important to some extent, however, well written copy is much more important. A page with the perfect number of keywords might do well in the search engines, but if it doesnt convert well, whats the point? I write with the visitor in mind first, and then try to tweak it slightly for the search engines if i need to. Obviously you want keywords on your page, but I dont think there is a perfect formula for it.

Keyword density is very important factor for optimizing a website. When you are targeting a keywords to ranking in top positions then if your website have optimal keyword density then it is good for ranking keywords stuffing more keywords may be a cause of spamming so always try to use 1-3% keywords density that optimal according to some SEO experts.

keywords density is much important on page content, Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page, lots of SEO experts think the best possible keyword density have to be 1 to 3 percent. Using a keyword more than that could be considered search spam.

Keyword Density and keyword prominence both are extremely important. The keyword density should be about 5% and not more and the keywords should be prominently placed where the Google crawler can see them when it comes to crawl your site like the title, desription, header tags and anchor text.
