Many other website maintains keyword density so my question is Keyword density is important or not?

What is the recommended keyword density??

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

 

Yes it is very important. The keywords density helps google crawlers determine how relevant is your site for a keyword which haz a bigger density. Some people say that the keyword density must be between 5%-10%. Anyway what is beyond 15% it is considered spam.

I feel that keyword density is important to some extent, however, well written copy is much more important. A page with the perfect number of keywords might do well in the search engines, but if it doesnt convert well, whats the point? I write with the visitor in mind first, and then try to tweak it slightly for the search engines if i need to. Obviously you want keywords on your page, but I dont think there is a perfect formula for it.

Using a keyword more than that could be considered search spam.
