I have been using wordpress software for quite some times now. However, so far, I have only worked with themes (installing and testing them for my blogs). Now I have become interested in designing website layouts and themes but I have no idea where to start from. Where should I start learning creating worpress themes and designs (any good resources, tutorials would be great) and should I also learn php and mySQl and get a command over all this?? www.thetechnofreaks.com
there are lot of website teach how design a wordpress themes and plugins.so you can search google for that information.if you not satisfied with those articles.you may buy eBooks for quality information.
if u want to make a website in Word press u can use WP plugins and upload your website content and domain name related themes from WP themes and there is available lot of sub menus for layout u can find there.
Get your hands dirty! The best way to learn is to setup a temporary site and then identify what you want to change. Search Google about ways to make that change and then search http://w3schools.com and https://codex.wordpress.org for the needed code and syntax, etc.
for testing, the best thing is to use your own computer as a server. it takes about 20 minutes to get everything setup properly... unless your not very techsavy; then it can take a few hours. However! once you have a server installed, you don't have to waste your time with ftp. you'll simply be able to press, ctrl + s, and then navigate to localhost or whatever.
