    I am planning to do a Facebook giveaway.

    I currently have over 5,000+ Fans. Its my first giveaway and i want to know how you guys do the giveaway and pick the winners as the page is hard to surf on the the fan list with this much of people.

    You currently can not do giveaways on facebook legally. They have banned all contests, but you are allowed to do it with a 3rd party application. We use Wildfire Promotion Builder to do our giveaways. Pretty well priced out too if you don't go with all the add ons.

    I didn't get you. What does it mean when you say it is not "legal". I'm running contests, giveaways, fan-building drives by running:

    > Ad campaigns
    > Having a custom landing page for the contests using FBML

    No problems, there. May be I'm missing your point.

    Sorry giveaways are still okay I believe. Contests on the other hand or where the participant has to enter into the contest need a 3rd part application, to my understanding.

    giveaways and contests are not the same thing ? if people need to login in by third party app to this contest, facebook will not allow ?
