Quality or Quantity? Content.

Alright, I hear so many of you experts on CEO (not me) saying that content is the key to SERPs, etc..

I have a question about that statement.

Would you rather have only a couple articles of really high-quality original content, or a very larger number of low-quality spun content.

I don't know if Google's bots can even tell the difference, so i'm considering writing low quality content and spinning it many times instead of taking the effort to write a great article. Of course, the low quality content will have proper spelling and grammar just will probably be seen as rambling and with bad flow to any human reader.

I guess the former is best for the long term, but what do you guys recommend?

 

Definitely QUALITY over quantity. Also make sure the content is relevant to your pages, more importantly, relevant to the keywords you are targeting.

Yeah... but how can search engines tell what is quality???

 

Search engines look at social signals and site performance. For example, if you are getting tons of traffic but your bounce rate is going through the roof, chances are your keywords are optimized but your content is not.. And you're not engaging your audience enough. You really have to step behind raw traffic and SERP/keyword rankings and focus on quality content.

Persistence in producing content, really, is more about getting the search engines to send out their bots more often and update their data. As we enter Web 3.0, I'd say that social signals will be even bigger. If Tommy's friends did not stick around at a page too long or they generally do not like pages on that site or they did not click Like/+1, the search engines will say, "Hey, this site must be full of suck.. Let's bury it in the results so Tommy can get to some other stuff instead."

Of course, search engines do not speak... but that would be neat, no?

 

Quality content i better than quantity content

 

Just update your site with fresh quality content.

 

A few quality articles and its not even close.

 

Both quality and quantity necessary,I THINK 50 ARTCL FOR UR SITE ENOUGH,

 

If over the course of my site being 6 months old, if I have 50 quality 300-500 word articles I should be able to get into the top 10 of a (145 000 searches a month) set of keywords, right? There is some competition but I think I could get at least to first page after 6 months?

I believe you need both. You also need good off site SEO.

I assume that you have a good link building campaign also and you are not just writing articles?

Also it totally depends on the competition on p1. What are their sites like, are they all optimized well with 20000 backlinks and pr4 or are they poorly done?

 

Yeah, pretty much all pr4... my earning goal is pretty small though
I'm trying to get into link building but the number of free options are limited

 

both points are very important, but the quality plays the dramatic role....without qualitative and unique content all your attempts will be useless

 

I would prefer "high" quality and "better" quantity. If you have less quality but with "better" quantity, you may gain real traffic, but not real customers. High quality is very important even if you don't have the quantity. Make sure that the content gives value to the reader.

 

Quality content is important in the comparison of quantity.

 

Of course quality is more important and useful! Search engine will consider the site with quality contents more and improve much fame for you.

 

To me, both is important.
Quantity = Easier to rank and can cover more keywords.
Quality = Your visitors will stay and read the whole article, there's no use even you get #1 in google while you article is junk and google also moniter how long your visitors stay etc. so it might also affect your serps

Decent quality with handsome quantity differ a lot

 

No Doubt comparing quantity or quality the Content is always the king. All knows more quantity can get you more page views and more income. Never try to compromise quality by sacrificing on the sake of quantity. Personally for my situation quantity Hubs is important to earn more money. But in the long run no doubt quality is more important. You can make more money as there will be a increase in earnings with the quality traffic
