I don't think Google will use it over backlinks. They won't do it because then everybody will just get on G+ and spam the heck out of the system. The second thing is that they are actually allowing do-follow links from G+. However, if your site has a lot of G+ hits, and one of your friend happens to search for your site's keyword, it's more likely that your site will rank better for that user.

That's crazy thinking. No way Google is going to replace backlinks with +1's. It won't have any credibility as +1's from multiple accounts can take a site to the top in spite of being non-informative with crap content.

I already think +1s do not have any real credibility.

pagerank and +1 are different things, +1 is just recommendation that a website or ad is good. Page rank is importance of a webpage in google's view

    1. Google Plus Ones are similar to Facebook Likes but would have a greater affect, specifically on how websites are going to be ranked.
    2. more plus ones a website has the better it will rank in Google's search engine results.
    3. if 10,000 users have +1'd your website Google will definitely rank you well!

They may choose to incorporate some of the data in their algo, eventually. Currently nothing would suggest that and it will never replace backlinks. Although having plus one annotations should increase your CTR in the SERPs.

I would tend to agree with that to be honest. It's unlikely as it's so easy to create a profile on Google+.

I thought Google does not allow business page? Google is trying to conglomerate SEO and monopolize the internet if they do so, this is unfair to others. There is possibility but I don't like it.

I completely agree that it is absolutely like Facebook likes and the more clicks on your like, the more attention your page will get on search ranking..

Yeah, I really don't think that it will replace it because they're two completely different things. One is a recommendation from someone/something whereas the other one actually provides content chosen by Google or so.

Right now it doesn't and I see search engine watch pulled down their quasi business page so I think they're pinging people who try to create pages by themselves pretty hard.

I've seen a bunch of conjecture on whether or not the +1 will have an effect on ranking (back even when it was just a button within the search bar) Wired has weighed on it even so it's hit the pop web business publications too: http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2011...h-results-using-1-button-data-but-its-touchy/

I just read this article: Google +1 Button The New PageRank?

Let me start off by being very clear. Google is not getting rid of PageRank in favor of the +1 button. Google is, however, looking at the data from the +1 button as a signal of content quality, and +1s will no doubt continue to be largely coveted by webmasters and content creators web-wide.

    Link to the article: http://www.webpronews.com/google-plus-one-pagerank-2011-08

    What do you think?
