Compete rank is same as Alexa ranking. I don't know much more about it. Can anyone help me about how can I increase the compete ranking of my websites?
Alexa is just a way for you to compare yourself with other sites but they aren't exactly "Reliable" just something we users use to please ourselves. Its possible you get more traffic than the sites ranked higher than you on Alexa so don't pay much attention. As for your rank - its very good for a 4 months old site.
I think those stats are good, but do bear in mind that an Alexa ranking (the lower the better) can be easily obtained, and is only useful if you intend on selling the site
Alexa rankings are usefull for more then selling they are great for determaning your audience, where they are in the world age etc so you can better choose your advertising and they same can be said for compete, and although i notice people day in and day out relay this "myth" that you need the alexa toolbar you do not. Both alexa and quantcast have direct tracking options so you can get an accurate geo perspective of your users. On Alexa you merely install an alexa box (see a2b.bz its on the left) this places a call to the alexa server on every page load just as the toolbar would, on quantcast and google analyctics its a tag in the header (see source code on a2b.bz), compete however is a closed controlled audience with toolbars, only the people they want to include in the surveys are included (the people there sponsors want to sell to), so you will only show up on that site if you reach the desired demograph. Google anylictics can offer great but not perfect insite. For true hit counts you ned to look on your server at awstats. And page rank has no use or purpose any where on the net google dont even use it in there search algorythm! They tried it for a while but it wasnt effective, they now organise the results based on the audience popularity (using google analyctics and alexa statistics).Now if you dont know how to accurately track on alexa please stop insulting it, the floor is yours not theres. If you think google page rank is important, you have fallen victim to the tall tales of many of the web marketting companies out there and you are simply not ready yet re-analyse your data before comenting. Also if somebody asks if he is doing well on the net guide him dont insult him or the tools he has chosen to use, you were that person once.
