Google and Blog Commenting for Backlinks

Can Google really identify blog comment spam?
Do you think you'll still be able to use blog commenting as a method of gaining links that do count? Can Google judge the quality of your comment?

blog commenting helps in target niche traffic if it is relevant. link count depends on blog's posts that are indexed or not

Do not worry about nodollow. Although these do not pass page rank, they do count as backlinks.

I suppose in near future google is not going to count blog comments as backlinks as they have been spammed to death.Instead of differentiating bad comments or good comments, its better for them to eliminate it from system.
But they will still be counted as targetted source of traffic if you are commenting on niche and related blogs.

blog commenting techniques work well if u can use ur linked keyword in the comments.

yes most of the blogs are nofollow who approved your comments.but some search engine index nofollow link too.

so comments with ur keyword as many as u can.

I think that the only place to comment is on related blogs, otherwise it is fruitless, as it will not add up for google. Also that blog visitors are targetted traffic in your niche- if they follow your link

I personally have never checked any comments on google. But I actually find it pretty easy to find "spammy" comments

I think Google doesn't really follow comments as long as it doesn't violate TOS. Surely Google can identify spam when it concerns it
