    No, it's all automated.
    Just submit your sitemap once and forget about it. Google will crawl your site and update sitemap automatically.
    The only time you would want to resubmit it is if you have huge changes on your website.

    Actually it depends...

    Sitemaps are not 'automatically' updated by Google you have to do it they will however automatically crawl it when they see fit.

    If your sitemap is generated by you rather than dynamically then you should just update it once a month depending on how often your site is updated with new content.

    If your site is indexed by Google (which any IM site better be) - it's submit-n-forget unless huge changes occur and you shouldn't worry about updating it.
    Google will do all the work for you.

    Either automate sitemap updating (Some solutions allow this one way or the other. Be sure to check the documentation of whatever product you use.) or just update your sitemap when you have done major changes

    Update the sitemap with news urls whenever you add new content. This will not only help search engines...not just Google, find you url's but in the case of Google will set you canonical's and you can pass other meta data as well. News, Video, and Image sitemaps can also pass important information to Google that will help them better index your site. Anyway you look at it it doesn't hurt to update when you add new content.

    hi everyone i have same problem in my website's sitemap. my sitemap status is pending in BING, Yahoo, or Google. when I search it in Google it show previous sitemap location.Now i change my web site Php to wordpress. anyone help me?

    Change sitemap only when you have changed anything on the website. Update sitemap and upload it again.

    It's not required update daily, It depends on if you made a big change on site then it's required.

    When you make any changes on your site or addded a new page in your site, then only you have to update the xml sitemap.

    Well if I had a site that was updated on a weekly basis then it would be probably worth the effort to include it in the sitemap as well. Ofcourse the content would have to be good and quality links should be pointing to it.
