    Q : Why this domain has a high PageRank when it's new?
    A : Yes, this domain has valid Pagerank that can be check carefully with your own validity pagerank trusted tools, and it's has high pagerank because this domain before I registered, the old owner may be maintain this domain/site very well, then this domain get great pagerank, but because some reason that I don' know why, the old owner doesn't renew this domain, so I found it and registered again with my favorite registrar company (Godaddy / Name.com), and that's why this domain has high pagerank very soon.

    (I always use this tools to check validity of pagerank : CekPR.com and or checkpagerank.net and or rankchecker.com and make sure with type on google search box : "info:domainname" without quote, domainname must be appear there)

    Q : Can I get benefit from domain like this?
    A : Of course you can, but it all depends on how you build up this domain and used as what, to get high profits you can find references from google or trusted forums and maybe one of them here (DP).

    Yes, most people called domain like this : dropped domain with pagerank
    and about your question, whether the pagerank of the domain will live long lasting, who knows, no one knows about that except Google and God,
    but I think we have big chance to keep it's pagerank still a live when we maintain it well (keep update, and give some natural backlink), you can find out my previously buyer that take some domain from me, and take a look there, most of them still a live their Pagerank
